Hipster

My dear sister had hip replacement surgery a couple of years ago.  Unfortunately, she was the unfortunate recipient of an infamous Depuy artificial hip, and hers went bad.  All that wonderful titanium just didn’t work out for her, and this past January, she had a second surgery to remove the ball and socket portion of the Depuy and replace it with a standard plastic model (which has worked for thousands of patients for many many decades now!).

Her recovery was difficult, of course, and she was very brave to endure all of that again.  But this morning she went for a follow-up appointment with her surgeon.  The great news is…..

SHE’S DOING REALLY FINE!

And here’s the proof, in glorious black and white!

That’s wonderful news that your sister is doing so well! My cousin had hip replacement two years ago, also received one of those that later were recalled. She didn’t have any problems with the replacement, but fell three weeks ago and shattered the bone where the replacement is attached. She’s now in rehab with a LONG road ahead.
So happy things are well with your sister!

Dianna, so very sorry about your cousin’s accident. I know from my sister’s rehab and recovery that it’s not an easy journey back to “normal” walking after all that. I hope and pray that she will be patient with herself as she slowly recoups.
