Help a Real Live Veteran TODAY

(Originally posted over at that OTHER Mother Goose Blog: mothergoosesalutes.wordpress.com)

So many friends of Mother Goose want to make a difference in the world. Here’s a HUGE way to help! A friend of mine, Richard Casper, is working with another disabled veteran, Jesse, to make a music video to go along with the song they wrote recently in Nashville with the amazing country band, Blackjack Billy.

Who doesn’t love a good old fashioned country song written by a veteran of the Iraq war? Who WOULDN’T want to see this go to the next level and get some national exposure? Who’s heart isn’t breaking for all of the brave disabled veterans out there?

Friends and loyal readers, here is a link to the crowd-funding site where they are raising up some bucks to help get the video together for Jesse’s song, “Til It Feels Like Home”. I believe that with all of us working together, we’ll make this dream a reality for these guys.

And here’s a video clip of Blackjack Billy singing the song.

Just imagine how this song could help vets all around the world! Let’s get behind this project, OK?

Feel free to hit that “share” button and God bless you!

The song was beautiful and I went to the site. Just sent them a little something but I always believe that little things count 🙂 Hope this happens for them!

Gina, thank you thank you thank you! You’re absolutely right — little things count a BUNCH! For Marine veteran Jesse, just having an opportunity to write a song with Blackjack Billy about his experience and feelings after his service — this has changed his life! We all can do a little something to change the world, and I thank you from the bottom of my feathery heart for helping these guys create a music video to accompany Jesse’s song. AWESOMENESS!

Natalie, I’m happy to help!! Do you know Jesse personally? Is this something your friend Richard has done before or is this the first time?

No, I have not met him yet, but from all that Richard has told me and from the blog that his dear wife writes ( http://amarineslove.blogspot.com )
        , I feel like I know him.

Jesse is the first veteran that Richard has taken under his good wing for this amazing healing therapy, but I know for a fact that he will not be the last veteran to be writing songs with famous people in the months to come.

This is a passion for Richard — he knows because he’s been there — just how to help these guys get whole again.

        Gina, thanks again so much!

Debra, even though that’s just a demo recording in somebody’s house, it does sound pretty good. The whole idea of helping a veteran write a song about his experiences and feelings is just GREAT!

THANK YOU for helping them out with their project, dear! I just appreciate it so much! You’re such a dear!

Gina, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I wish you were right here — I’d give you the biggest hug! I wish you could sit and have a coffee with Richard and listen as he shares his story and his heart to help his Marine brothers. I wish that every single American would see our brave veterans and soldiers the way that you do.

I believe that our nation is going to come around and realize that each of us can do something to help — some of us help in little ways, some of us help in BIG ways, but everybody can do something that will be important in the picture.

I’m going to check in with Richard and see how the project funding is coming along… Blessings all around you and your family today, Gina!
